Give this ifthey want a quick, witty adventure
A fourteen-year-old wizard whose magic only works on bread finds a dead body in her aunt's bakery and has to save her city. Very funny, with sourdough as a weapon.
One caveat: A little darker than it sounds, with real danger.

What cozy fantasy is
Cozy fantasy keeps the magic, the invented world and the wonder of fantasy, and removes the war. The stakes are personal — a shop that might fail, a family that might not accept you — and the resolution is kind. Found family, food, craft and small communities are its recurring comforts.
It grew quickly in the 2020s as readers looked for fantasy that felt restful rather than brutal, and it now has its own shelf in many bookstores.
